slait.ai

A smartphone app that uses A.I. to allow communication between Deaf persons who use ASL & hearing persons who speak.

Currently in beta form. ✔ the website. Looks interesting.

I requested to be notified when the app is ready for testing.

Anyone here gotten their hands on it yet? (Pun serendipitous)

I am using ASL Translator: I give it an entire sentence, and it produces a single, seamless video of each of the signs together. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/asl-trans ... d421784745 $$

I see that as being useful if you're wanting to learn to sign. Or perhaps someone who's reading isn't very good. The deaf people I know read fine so a simple speech to text app would be fine.

What's really needed is ASL to text. I'm sure AI will get there. I'd even settle for a literal translation instead of making it proper English.
