List of single females over 55
I am trying to create a report of single females over 55. I have records which show females still married but the husband has passed away. When I create a report there are three categories for single, divorced, single and widow. But I have widowed females showing married, but their records show the husband as deceased. So, I can't create a report including all of the single females. I have some records which show up correctly their husband is deceased, and they show up as widowed. I don't see anywhere where to change the married with deceased husbands to widowed. Anyone know how I would fix it?

Believe I have seen this problem in another thread. It may well be a database error and not field editable. You could call the GSD and while doubtful they will be able to fix it on the phone they could then pass it along as a bug to the developers. Might take a long time to get fixed with all their other priorities however.brentlindsay wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 9:00 pm I am trying to create a report of single females over 55. Any possibility that temple sealing is playing a part in this? Depending on the field used and the outcome desired, I could see sealed sisters not showing as "single".brentlindsay wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 9:00 pm But I have widowed females showing married, but their records show the husband as deceased.

What criteria are you using to filter the sisters in a custom report? Looking at the Marriage Status criterion there are seven conditions possible; Divorced, Sealed to a Spouse, Sealed to Current Spouse, Sealed to Prior Spouse, Married, Single, Widowed. It looks like selecting Marriage Status | Is | Divorced/Single/Widowed would produce the desired list of single sisters. Make sure none of the three sealed conditions are selected.brentlindsay wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 9:00 pm I am trying to create a report of single females over 55. If your report looks like that, then as the others have mentioned, the only option is to call the GSD for help with record/database issues.

Yes, that is what I was doing to create the report. The weird thing is I have looked at other records who husband's are deceased and they show up as widowed. I might be the temple sealing which is causing problems. I will check records for temple sealings verses not to see if that is causing the issue.

Re: List of single females over 55
I wonder how many conditions can be applied to a person? One possible situation is a sister who was married in the temple, civilly divorced, and then the ex-husband dies. It seems to me she should be both "divorced" and "Sealed to a spouse". But if only one status is allowed, it's likely to be "Sealed to a spouse".
It's possible that "Sealed to a Spouse" needs to be added to the list of the report criteria to get the list desired.
Unless something has changed, I don't think a former spouse would be listed unless they were sealed to them.

Currently deceased, non-sealed spouses are listed on the membership as (deceased) if the member has not remarried.russellhltn wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 10:43 amI wonder how many conditions can be applied to a person?
