Scammers will often subsitute letters that are very hard to distinguish. An example I found:
(In by browser the two look identical. I have to copy and paste it into something else to confirm that's what's going on.)A scammer might use "PayPaI.com" instead of "PayPal.com," where the uppercase "i" looks similar to a lowercase "L".
Add to that all the possible substitutions from extended character sets, and just education isn't enough. You can spot some fakes, but you can't be assured you'll spot all of them.
No doubt jimhubbell came here after receiving an odd email looking for some link between the church and Kindoo. There is one, but it wouldn't hurt to contact the alleged sender and make sure it's real.
