Scammers will often subsitute letters that are very hard to distinguish. An example I found:
A scammer might use "PayPaI.com" instead of "PayPal.com," where the uppercase "i" looks similar to a lowercase "L".
(In by browser the two look identical. I have to copy and paste it into something else to confirm that's what's going on.)

Add to that all the possible substitutions from extended character sets, and just education isn't enough. You can spot some fakes, but you can't be assured you'll spot all of them.

No doubt jimhubbell came here after receiving an odd email looking for some link between the church and Kindoo. There is one, but it wouldn't hurt to contact the alleged sender and make sure it's real.

Indeed, that's why I proposed to entertain certain questions. I would first ascertain the origin of the email before acting upon it---the fact that there exists an association with The Church and Kindoo is just that, a fact, but it doesn't mean it's authenticated. The sense of urgency is what many scammers exploit.

Odds are that it's entirely legitimate, but it doesn't hurt to be skeptical and verify as much as possible.

We have ward conference this Sunday, I hope there is some training about this new technology.
I would be suspicious as well if I didn't know Kindoo was being rolled out in my building. When we train on Kindoo in my FM group, we instruct the Kindoo managers to first send an email letting leaders know about Kindoo and include a user guide. The email also lets them know they will receive an invitation email from Kindoo to download the app and log in. Only after sending that advance-notice email do they add the users to Kindoo, which generates the automatic email invitation.

That's disappointing. It would be nice to have for Clerk's office and Material Centers as those tend to be restricted access yet keys are in the hands of a number of individuals.

There is technology coming from Kindoo to address the interior doors, but we'll need to see if the Church adopts it. It would solve a lot of issues.

Kindoo Access Control System

Post by GMMHero »

Hello. I am looking for the approved callings list but am getting a message "The requested URL was not found on this server.", however just last week it was there on https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/too ... w?lang=eng. Does anyone know why that message is popping up on any of the links I click?

The Wiki is down right now, so those links are temporarily not working, sorry.

I just tried the link and it's working fine for me. It's not affected by the temporary wiki shutdown.

You might try using incognito mode just in case it's a problem with cookie build-up in the browser.

Thank you @russellhltn and @lajakckson. I have tried incognito, but I am still receiving the same message. I may need to try again tomorrow and hope it is fixed.

Ah, I see. The main page isn't on the wiki, but all the links do go to the wiki.

We don't have a timeline when it will come back up. The person responsible for it is on vacation, but is aware of the problem.
