meet.churchofjesuschrist.org help information?

#1

Post by aslade »

Is there a help/information page somewhere for the https://meet.churchofjesuschrist.org/ Zoom account setup site? The “help” link on the bottom of the page opens to a message that says “This page has been deleted.”

Some questions that I have include:
  • What does the “Publish” feature on the Manage Events page do? What does it publish to?
  • I see that new webinar events created by unit Zoom accounts automatically populate in the Manage Events page. Why is publish being enabled by default?
  • Why are some wards showing the message “No events scheduled for this unit” when I know the ward has a recurring webinar established? Is it because that ward created that recurring event before the Manage Events page was created and older existing events are not able to be imported? If so, is there a way to automate pulling them in or would we maybe need to manually add them with the “Add Custom Event” button?
  • The Manage Local Units page has the warning “Do not delete licenses to change the email address.” Fortunately this hasn’t happened yet. But what if a person with access to the assigned email address leaves a unit before updating the email address and/or passing on information to the new unit technology specialist? Are there negative consequences if we use that page to remove an email assigned to a license and try to re-add a new email?
Thanks in advance.

Unless someone provides direct answers to your questions there is information in the Help Center (https://www.ChurchofJesusChrist.org/help/support/meetinghouse-technology) as well as in the Tech Wiki Virtual Meetings section.

I think I have adequately confirmed, at least to my own satisfaction, that the units that have “No events scheduled for this unit” are because they managed to extend the recurrence of their existing events that were created prior to this system importing scheduled events.

I’m still not aware of what the events would be published to. I was wondering if they might be automatically published to a unit calendar or some other resource that members could access. Still haven’t found out what that might be. It’s either not in the Help Center pages or I am not searching for the correct terms.

Also, I have noticed that the https://meet.churchofjesuschrist.org/ site appears to be effectively offline at the moment. I get at “403 Forbidden” error message when attempting to access the server at this time. Hopefully, that service will be restored soon.

It's working for me. Try incognito mode. Note that access may depend on calling.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Thank you! Great tip. I deleted website data from Church sites, logged in again, and it now works for me again too.
I’ve seen similar things from other sites with complicated CDN setups. But I assumed this specific “403 Forbidden” message was more on the server side only rather than the server-client interaction.

Has anyone yet found a way to populate existing Zoom meetings into the meet.churchofjesuschrist.org site? Any new meetings that I create are automatically populated, but existing meetings are not. I've tried editing the meetings, converting them to webinars, but no luck. There should be a way to manually trigger it to happen.

That seems to be a known issue. It doesn't catch changes, only creation of new.

Ours are now populating change of date to current meetings, but it will NOT update the time!

Therefore, the broadcast page won’t release the link to the public until that set time…. If they’d take that setting away, I would be good to go!

Who do we reach out to? This is now an urgent need to get our Elderly ward up to speed!

Help!?
