How to change a temple recommend "interviewer"?
I'm a stake clerk and for various reasons or situations we have occasionally chosen the wrong interviewer for a given recommend. This isn't recognized till too late, like after it has been printed out. Is there any way to modify that after the fact ourselves or is that just a "call into the help desk" type scenario? The recommend is technically valid as they did get both interviews, it just has the wrong name on it.
Thoughts?

I'd imagine it's a "call the help desk" situation. But I am curious as to the business case for that information, especially after the fact.

I don't see how that can possibly happen as the interviewer has to be logged in with their Church account to validate the recommend.

Not accurate. Clerks/secretaries can do it on behalf of bishoprics or presidents. Bishoprics and presidents can do it for one another as well. In our most recent case one president needed an interview of his own. His computer happened to be open so to save time for the other president to get his computer out the first president went ahead and pulled it up to print out... but forgot to change the name and so his own name is on the recommend, even though the other president did it. If that is an allowed circumstance or an uncaught edge case is not relevant, but there are various circumstances where the situation can happen.garystroble wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 11:15 am I don't see how that can possibly happen as the interviewer has to be logged in with their Church account to validate the recommend.

I modify my remarks as follows: I don't see how that can possibly happen as the interviewer SHOULD BE logged in with their Church account to validate the recommend. And I add: not sure about the stake process, but on the ward level so far nobody but the actual bishopric in our ward has done the inputting of the electronic recommend. However, having said that I do see that the ward clerk can select the interviewer. As clerks perhaps we need to inject some of our accuracy into the processbarkeraj wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 11:36 amNot accurate. Clerks/secretaries can do it on behalf of bishoprics or presidents. Re: How to change a temple recommend "interviewer"?
"SHOULD BE" is fair. I have 2 tech savvy presidents and one that is not. It was a tech savvy one that made the accidental mistake of being logged in and giving it to himself... accidents happen. For the non-tech-savvy one, I have my laptop out in the foyer and print them for him, so I have to select his name each time. I haven't done it yet, but I can see a potential accident of me selecting the wrong name because I was just talking to one of the others and they were on my mind. Again, accidents (may) happen.

Understand, seems there should be a process to fix an error. Perhaps the GSD can work some magic?barkeraj wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 12:38 pm "SHOULD BE" is fair. Because the names of the interviewers are printed on the temple recommend. They are also in the system and might be contacted by the temple if the member were to forget to take the recommend to the temple. It would not be good if the temple called and someone said, I never interviewed that person.russellhltn wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 10:46 am I am curious as to the business case for that information, especially after the fact.

Ah. But now we have two problems - we need to update the listing in the system and really should re-print the recommend so it's accurate.lajackson wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:58 pm Because the names of the interviewers are printed on the temple recommend. If you go into the member's recommend in LCR, it looks like it lets you change the status back to "in progress" (haven't tested what happens if you click save though). It might be worth giving that a shot to see if that lets you re-activate (with the correct name) at the stake level.
