Furniture and Appliances Request , Etc.
Hi @Everyone, I was ask by my Bishop to report all the problem in our meeting house somehow I reported every problem we have in the ward. I send a request to the FM to replace the busted lights, broken blinds, sacrament ceiling, order 3 primary tables, request for our own Clerk in the ward, and have the sacrament to put air-conditioned due to noise and heat issue. But, all of the request has been denied by the FM. But from my previous ward in the same stake all of the request that they have has been approved. It's so very unfair that all of the needs of the members in our ward has been denied but in the other ward they approved it.
Any suggestion to do to have this things to be approved?

How are you submitting the requests? Via the FIR app or webpage?
Have the bishop talk to the FM group. If that doesn't go anywhere, have the bishop talk to the stake president. This is primarily a user-to-user forum so we can't do anything but suggest to you on how to handle it.

Re: Furniture and Appliances Request , Etc.
Bishops need to talk to the stake high council Physical Facilities Rep (PFR) who in turn can speak to the Facilities Manager.
There are some things which FMs are not allowed to approve to be done, and some things that they are.
Lighting- broken lighting should be approved by the FM group to get repaired by the contractor or church employees that they utilize. Now if you request a complete lighting upgrade or something like that, well that likely won't fly. If you have burned out lighting that you can reach with a step ladder, such as fluorescent tubes or light bulbs, and they are in the building for members to access, that is ok. Anything that requires you to go above a basic step ladder should not be done by members.
Broken Blinds- Again this is something that should be approved. Unless there were not supposed to be blinds in there in the first place and a ward or stake decided to put them in on their dime.
Sacrament Ceiling? I am assuming you are referring to the sacrament prep room? What is wrong with it? If it requires a new ceiling because of water damage or it is falling apart, then I would think it would get approved. If it just needs a new coat of paint, then they may be waiting until the rest of the inside of the building is due to be painted.
Primary Tables- If you are referring to the long tables or round banquet tables that are used in the cultural hall for special events, that can seat 8 or so people then those are generally ordered as part of a yearly budget plan for your meetinghouse/stake. If you are talking the small classroom tables, those shouldn't be much of an issue to get by the FM Group. If the tables are unsafe or have sharp edges/corners, you can duct tape them for the time being. If they are falling apart and are at the end of their life then request the FM group to come pick them up to dispose of them and replace them and ask why if they won't. I often get to go out and cut them up and throw them in the dumpster as part of my contractor job and former service missionary job.
Air Conditioning- can you be more specific on what you are requesting? Are you saying there is no A/C or it's not working right?
Thank you

The WIKI has a document titled FIR Documentation. In the section titled Determining Who Should Use FIR is a table titled FIR Permissions that has what you are looking for.

This one is dated Release Date: 29 June 2012. It included Technology Specialists and I know that calling was removed. Wondering if any updates? The list I did find was different then this one. But alas no date on it.

I beg to differ. I'm a Stake Technology Specialist and have full access to FIR.

Re: Furniture and Appliances Request , Etc.
The calling was redone. While there is still an STS it's no longer a stake clerk. I do agree it's incomplete as the FamilySearch Center director is not listed.

Re: Furniture and Appliances Request , Etc.
The FIR website also has a rather comprehensive List of Authorized Positions, although STS is still identified as a stake clerk. One problem is you have to have access to FIR before you can see the above list. When I try it when not logged in, the browser goes into some sort of a weird loop. Looks like it's tripping over itself trying to bring up the SSO page, but failing. Same results with either Chrome or Firefox.
BTW, on this list "Family History Center Director" can be found under the "Other" tab.
