Can someone please clarify with the new Ecclesiastical Endorsement process if stake presidency interviews are still required? The documentation only mentions bishops doing it but students completed by bishops still show up in the stake list. I wish the letters and BYU info would be clear on the full process.

Re: Ecclesiastical Endorsement confusion
Both a bishop's endorsement and stake presidency member's endorsement are needed the first time when applying or transferring to a Church school; but only a bishop's endorsement is needed for continuing students. See "When does a student need an ecclesiastical endorsement?" on this page:
https://honorcode.byu.edu/ecclesiastical-endorsements-and-resources
(The question "Who can conduct an ecclesiastical endorsement interview?" on the same page is also relevant, but doesn't directly mention stake presidencies – which I agree is confusing.)

For initial endorsements, both bishop and stake presidency interviews are required. Continuing students need only the bishop's endorsement. The process should be clearer.

Re: Ecclesiastical Endorsement confusion
The Ecclesiastical Endorsement process has caused some confusion. While documentation states that bishops are involved, the role of stake presidency interviews is unclear. Clarification from BYU would greatly benefit the process. - Dave LeFevre, Stake Presidency Counselor, Snohomish WA Stake.

Re: Ecclesiastical Endorsement confusion
This has now been stated three separate times in the thread. Just to make sure you're aware, almost all Forum participants are regular church members like yourself. Church employees who might have an ability to record, and then possibly act on your suggestions, are unlikely to ever see this Forum post. The process should be clearer
There's two standard suggestions for situations like this. First is to use the Feedback functionality available at the bottom of most Church webpages (or in Church apps). The second is to send the request up the priesthood line of authority, which in your case would be for the Stake President to suggest it to the Area Seventy (or perhaps share with the Coordinating Council participants).
