I've tried talking to everyone, including my stake tech support, and apparently no one has any idea how to fix it. Every time we try to turn on our ward computer, it gets stuck on the following:
Intel(R) Boot Agent GE vX.X.XX
Copyright (C) 1997-2013, Intel Corporation
Intel(R) Boot Agent PXE Base Code (PXE-X.X build XXX)
Copyright (C) 1997-2010, Intel Corporation
CLIENT MAC ADDR: [address] GUID: [identifier]
PXE-E53: No boot filename received
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent
No Boot Device Found. Press any key to reboot the machine
Of course there is a boot device. A SSD installed in the computer that contains the Windows 11 OS. we can enter the BIOS config, bypass the Intel boot agent and boot directly into Windows 11. (I know it's not the right, recommended or safe way of doing it, but it's the only one we can use the computer right now.) Also, our internet connection doesn't work unless we restart the computer, for some reason.
Has anyone had a similar problem, know something about or how to fix it? Any new information or insight might be helpful.

Re: Frequent computer boot failure
It looks like it's trying to boot from the network. (PXE). I'm not sure if that's part of the problem or not. It's not usual for computers to try.
It might be the SSD is a bit flaky in coming up. Anything you can do to delay the boot may help.
I'd go into the BIOS and check the settings. Makes sure the HDD/SDD is one of the boot options.

And if there is a boot priority that the SSD is on top over things like USB, Network, DVD, etc.russellhltn wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 1:54 pm I'd go into the BIOS and check the settings. Makes sure the HDD/SDD is one of the boot options.

Re: Frequent computer boot failure
Normally that wouldn't be a problem. If the computer finds nothing bootable, it will go down the line. "No boot device found" suggests it's gone down the line and found nothing. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make sure there's no USB stick, DVD, etc that just might be confusing things.Cmanrogers wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 11:03 am And if there is a boot priority that the SSD is on top over things like USB, Network, DVD, etc.

Re: Frequent computer boot failure
If not easily resolved, go ahead and have your stake tech specialist request a new computer. Sometimes I get sent to fix a corrupted or bad ward or stake or FHC computer where things are to the point that its better to just replace then spend hours trying to fix something that likely can't be resolved right away.
