it asks for my passcode i have tried what i think will not take it

Apparently your account is set up with two-step verification. The passcode is different from your Church account password and uses the options and methods you have set up in your account. A common option and method is to have the passcode sent in a text message to your smart phone. Is that text message passcode the one you entered in response text box?
