Okay, so this is more of a complaint but I do have a solution. We discovered that calendar events that were deleted from LCR were not updating in the tools app even if you continually synched the app after she deleted it. My wife (RS President) deleted an RS event a couple weeks ago and while it didn't show on the calendar on the website, it continued to show on the calendar on the Tools app (which is the calendar most people use) so there was a lot of confusion and a little bit of frustration over this.
The primary solution should be that the calendar app synching removes deleted calendar events displayed in the app but that is definitely not the cast in multiple use cases (checked date of last synch and in all of them it was at least a week after the event was deleted). So what we had to do was to go to the app on the individual's phone, go to the calendar, select the "Manage Calendars" option, and uncheck "Relief Society". Now we closed the app (just to be sure) and in then went back into it and checked "Relief Society" but you may be able to just re-select "Relief Society" and be good...I'll know this weekend at church when I help some of the less technologically savvy folks fix their app calendar. At this point the deleted calendar event is gone.

Another solution to syncing the calendar in the app is to do a data refresh. A data refresh goes beyond just syncing and downloads all new data. Data refresh is found in the Settings menu.

If you haven't done it already, I'd suggest using the in-app feedback to report the issue.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.
