Turning custody papers into my Bishop
I am divorced, and I have custody of all my children , 2 of then have records in the ward , the other 3 in a different ward. My Bishop is saying that I have to give them a copy of my custody orders from court to have my 3 children's records moved to our current ward. I am a bit confused on the authority to need to see my civil court order.

There isn't a requirement that I'm aware of, but he is charged with making sure the records are accurate and reflect legal names, status, etc.
Divorce tends to bring out the worst in people and he may be aware of counter claims or have other reason to be concerned about what he's being told. Then again, it might be past experience with a similar situation. I'm not aware of any verbiage that would prevent him from asking.
