Export data from Gospel Library

Post by ndjakou »

Is there a way to export and import annotation/tag/notes/marking data for Gospel Library.

Even if that is technical.

I believe that this post may give you some help:
Currently the easiest way to share a note on social media, from the Church website...
It doesn't necessarily make "export all notes" easy, but at least individual notes can be shared this way.

It can be done in Gospel Library for Windows. Go to the Notes section and click "Export" at the top. Can be exported to text (.txt), spreadsheet (.csv), database (.sqlite), or JSON (.gls). AWESOME feature.

It would be nice to have a functioning export from webapp, ios, and android as well... Does someone know if windows app functions are normally, eventually, implemented on other platforms, or do I need to keep my windows computer around. This will need to be worked out in order to preserve ancestor information in a digital age. The church should also allow a legacy contact with full access to data as designated by a user prior to passing.

Features in Windows Gospel Library don't always make their way to iOS/Android Gospel Library, or vice versa. The iOS and Android apps are developed by Church employees, while the Windows app is developed by volunteers. The Windows Gospel Library team prioritizes features in part based on the interests of the active volunteers who are contributing.

There is an option for passing on Church-managed digital data to family members. If you go to Account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org, there's a "Legacy Contacts" section that lets you choose whether to allow your data to be shared. The process for accessing a deceased family member's annotations is described in the Gospel Library FAQ.
