Sacrament meeting zoom audio

Post by laynesanders »

So, we’re broadcasting our sacrament meeting via zoom using a laptop and an external mic that that we clip the mic at the pulpit. The members that watch the zoom meeting say the speakers come through clearly but they can’t hear the music, both the organ and the congregation singing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a different mic, different setting, etc?

ZOOMs default "audio profile" treats music as noise and will suppress it. You can change ZOOMs behavior by selecting a different "audio profile" called "original sound for musicians". The "profiles" are located on the "audio settings" menu. After you make the profile change, you will see it's name appear(with a green or red checkmark) in the upper left corner of the main ZOOM screen. At the start of each meeting you can now turn it on or off.

Here is a youtube video that shows the entire process.
