Magazine renewal email reminders not being sent

Post by BrianEdwards »

The Magazine Subscription webpage was brought up in another thread, so I wanted to post it separately for visibility. It seems many members have not received any email alerts about expiring Church magazine subscriptions, even though they set up everything correctly on the webpage, myself included. This is a timely issue, since for many of us it was one year ago, that we were able to sign up for the 1-year subscriptions.

It might be good for local leaders to be proactive and get the word out to members so they can check their subscription status (it seems like clerks are unable to renew subscriptions, although I know for sure that last year Branch Presidents and Bishops could do that). Especially since depending on when during a month the renewal occurs, it will usually take two months for the renewal cycle to sync. For example, I renewed this week (month of March), and my new expiration date is May 2026.

PS: I did submit Feedback as well

Fun part is ours expired in March and I did not realize it so we should have missed the April issue, but it came yesterday. So maybe they have extended the free subscriptions, again with no notice. I have no idea what exactly is going on, can only speculate at this point. The magazine department seems to be somewhat rudderless right now.

Based on that other post, I also went to the store yesterday where I saw that my subscription expired in March, as expected. I renewed for 12 issues and now expire in May 2026. New Math: 14 is the new 12.

I never received a reminder email even though the box was checked. After I renewed, I did receive an email confirming there had been a change to my subscription, although the email did not say what changed.

Perhaps someone decided all of the subscriptions should not expire with the issue just before general conference. Who knows? Another one of the mysteries of the kingdom we are studying this year in Sunday School.
