Having seen this thread, I checked some FHC computers tonight, they updated almost 'on contact' so to speak. The one I'm in had two rooms and one room is a classroom setup where they are not always used every time we're open, and on those I forced the updates and it was that easy to do as shown by clicking the one icon, and they showed updated and a timestamp on the alt-text that shows when you hover over the icon in the system tray.
I simply right-clicked on the one that looks like a 'U' and clicked the update now option. It's that easy.
