Error in Member Name Showing in Tools

I have a dilemma with the information for several Ward members showing up in Tools.

I have three members whose information (names) shows up correctly in the Membership Directory BUT when displayed in Tools there is another family name along with the MIS directory information.

For example if their MIS family name is SMITH the display in tools shows BAKER and SMITH. The Baker name is totally wrong.

How do I get the Tools information to not show two family names, one of which is wrong?

I really think I will need to have a live conversation with someone at headquarters to solve this dilemma. Is there a number I may call??

Check the last names of all the members involved. You may find one of them is BAKER.

Reminder that their full name should reflect their legal name. There's more flexibility in Preferred Name.

Edit: any possibility that the wife's maiden name was BAKER and her name wasn't updated when the marriage was recorded? (I'm assuming she changed her name.)

Household name may need updating.

Two of the individuals I am trying to correct are single young men. No possible marriage name to worry about.

There's still the full name and preferred name fields to check. I seem to remember that sisters had a maiden name field, but I can't rule out the possibility of men also having it (as some brothers do change their names). Just because they're not married doesn't mean something strange hasn't been recorded there.

I'd also check the Household name as that's on the household and not on the individual records. That's frequently something that trips up clerks.
