Lights in the cultural hall

Post by collinsharrell »

Our Stake is putting on a large community Easter event. My wife and I are in charge of “The Resurrection Room” in the cultural hall. We are really struggling because we need the ceiling lights in the room to be dimmed or even off all together. Every time we turn them off or dim them, they will randomly turn back on 100%, following which the 4 light switches in the room are inoperable for a random length of time. It’s like there is some master control that over-rides the local switches and is malfunctioning. The event is starting tomorrow evening and we really need some help! We’ve contacted our building rep who has put in an FM request, but not likely to get help in time. Do you have any ideas or know anyone who might be able to help us figure this out?

Do you have motion-detection devices on the lights? They could be overriding the manual switches. But if you do, I'm not sure you can do anything about it without FM assistance. Your Stake President could reach out to the FM Group with an urgent request. In my experience (when I served as a Bishop), The FM group is much more responsive to the Stake President than anyone at the ward level.
