Parents had their names removed from the records of the church. However, that left three children (17, 15, 11) still showing on our records. All are unbaptized.
How is this handled? Thank you.

Re: Children of record w/parents names removed
While this does not answer your specific question, the second paragraph of General Handbook, 33.6.2, states:
Since this situation is not addressed outright in the General Handbook, then I would make a call to support to see what they may know. Before doing that I would also involve the stake president to see what he knows since he has to give approval to have the records cancelled.
Even though the parents had their records removed that is not automatic grounds for removing the records of their unbaptized children. It might be prudent to contact the parents to ask what their preference is and what their children want. Perhaps they mistakenly thought their children's records would automatically be removed when they removed their own records.A person age 9 or older who has a membership record but has not been baptized and confirmed is not a member of record. However, the ward in which the person lives retains the membership record until the person is 18. At that time, if the person chooses not to be baptized, the bishop cancels the membership record. The stake president’s permission is required.

Another possibility is since the children were never baptized, the parents know the children are non-members (true), without realizing there are still church records associated with the children.jdlessley wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 1:40 amPerhaps they mistakenly thought their children's records would automatically be removed when they removed their own records.

Re: Children of record w/parents names removed
Section 32.14.9 indicates that a signature from the minor is needed in addition to the parents. It's unclear if the parents can have it removed on their own.
