User friendly Gospel Symbols?

Post by alexmatheson1 »

Would it be possible to make the Gospel Symbols "user friendly" for Autistic persons ? Either as a stand alone app, in Gospel for Kids app, in Gospel Library app?

User friendly= ability to bear a testimony, share a talk, teach a lesson with combination of text/voice (in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, etc.) + American Sign Language (ASL) (video-preferred and/or photo or illustration) + Gospel artwork -using short sentences to "describe".

There is a 6 year old Autistic boy in our Ward who uses a communcation device, however it is a difficult process to add the Gospel Symbols to the device.

The device has ProloQuo 2? on it with some ASL words & the ASL alphabet & text with voice/symbols.

I would look for the following-

*The Gallaudet Children's Dictionary of American Sign Language ( available through Barnes and Noble)
(I agree with most of the signs for the words)

*Google AAC apps. Look for ones with symbols or photos.

*Google ASL apps. Look for ones with 4+ star ratings.

(*for reference/inspiration purposes -hopefully in ideas for improving Gospel Symbols)

This forum is for self-help member support by other members, none of whom have the ability to make such changes (or at least none whom will admit to having such access). If you're requesting that changes be made to any official Church software, you'll probably want to use the Feedback mechanism either in the "app" or Church web page that you're accessing.
