The Utah State Library for Blind has a new digital player out. The Digital Talking Book player, Model DA1 is provided by the Library of Congress. Will the Church transpose the scriptures, ensign, etc. over to that format? If so, does anyone know when? My blind mother really likes the new format, but the above items are not in the new format.
Thanks

Currently with a test group.
The answer is yes. Currently the church is producing DAISY talking books for the Ensign, Friend, and New Era Magazines. It is only with a test group right now until the kinks are worked out. You may get on the mailing list by contacting Disability Services 801-240-2477 (email: SpecialCurriculum@ldschurch.org) and requesting it.
The Gospel principles manual is in DAISY format too:
http://www.lds.org/library/display/0,49 ... -2,00.html
Look at the top 3 daisy links. Human voice narrated is usually the preferred but some like having the text for searchability.
As far as other manuals/scriptures being converted it is on the road-map but not in production.
Hope that helps.
