There are some interesting projects being done at labs.familysearch.org using Adobe Flex. Talk about Adobe Flex and how the Church is or could be using it in this forum.

I just started researching this a day before this was blog'd so I thought that this was convenient and may be able to help some others with their eyes on this spot:

This has some very interesting implications for portable web applications (ie, apps that can run on the web but can be disconnected for off the network usage).
