If the moderator could change the visible text of the link to be "gospellibrary" vs "leaderlibrary" and "1.0.4" vs "1.0.1" I would be very grateful.

In keeping with the other links, I removed the text, so now it's just the corrected link.

Is is just me but I just installed John's modded version of the Gospel Library app. I get a bunch of the stuff I was looking for but none of the scriptures work. I tried using the full and the partial versions with the same result. If i look in the folder, C:\touchpad\webos_content_json_full.zip\.ldssa\content\eng\scriptures\bofm\1-ne it is empty. All of the other scriptures as empty as well. Anyone experiencing that as well? Have a fix?

It sounds like you simply forgot to extract the "webos_content_orig.zip" file which contains the "built in" content, in addition to either the full or partial zip file which contains all the "extra" manuals and magazines and so forth. You need the contents of the original content zip for the scriptures. If it asks whether you want to overwrite any conflicting files when you extract the second one it should be ok to say yes since the zips contain different files (and any files present in both would likely be identical in both anyway).

The zip originally had everything in it and I used WinZip to delete all the original content (xml files) but it does not delete the folders so they will extract as empty folders. As kmartind mentions above you just also extract the webos_content_orig.zip file and it will fill in all those empty folders.

It turns out I have the Teachings of the Presidents in the wrong place. I think that folder used to be under Other (where I have it) in IOS and Android but they moved it under Manuals at some point. I will do the same and update the IPK.

Also, I'd love to hear if anyone has tried my GLCatalog program that builds the entire menu hierarchy using the IOS/Android catalog JSON files for 5 languages. The links are here: https://tech.lds.org/forum/showthread.p ... #post74795. I am working (as time permits) on advancing both versions into a single app that downloads content over the web from within the application along with properly supporting hyperlinks between all documents.

Later today I will update both IPKs (gospellibrary and glcatalog) with some minor changes plus a separate zip with recent content updates, such as new 2012 magazine content.

I have re-uploaded my revised build of the Gospel Library for webos application. This build should include the media links, when available, at the end of a document. One version that made it out into the wild recently had broken the media links capability. I also replaced the book icon with a folder icon for menu items that are not books and moved the Teachings of the Presidents folder under Manuals where it belongs.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/org.ld ... .4_all.ipk

If you need non-English content you might want to try out my GLCatalog application, which includes menus and static content for English, Spanish, German, French, and Portuguese. I’ve made a number of changes to that application and you can grab the IPK here:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/org.ld ... .1_all.ipk

The content for each language supported by this version of the Gospel Library application (which does not use any of the original XML content) can be grabbed from the same dropbox folder via these links:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/webos_content_deu.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/webos_content_eng.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/webos_content_fra.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/webos_content_por.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/webos_content_spa.zip

Going forward I will gradually be merging these two applications into one – which, hopefully soon, will be able to manage the content from within the application. For now it is all still static content that you have to load manually outside the app. The filenames in the content zips above do not match the filenames in the content zips that work with my revision to the 1.0.4 Gospel Library app so you can’t mix the two. The GLCatalog content files have filenames that are based off of the zbook filenames from the Android and IOS platform catalogs for the 5 languages that are supported in my webos app. They are also stored in .ldswebos rather than .ldssa. This is just while my naming conventions are different between the two apps, which I hope to fix this week so that the content files between the two apps wind up being exactly the same for English. One that happens I’ll move them to the same folder (probably .ldssa).

FYI, I have spent a great deal of time working on my multi-lingual GLCatalog version of the Gospel Library application today (yesterday).

As of early this morning I have gotten links working between different chapters and books. Some links may still not work if they contain unexpected characters at the end of the URI (one example I know if is if they end with an anchor name, such as #7). I'll fix that ASAP and any others I uncover. Something else not quite working yet is scrolling within the chapter to the correct verse/verses. I will get that working ASAP.

I also implemented autoscroll and screenscroll for my json chapter page (like the chapterview scene from the original webos Gospel Library app).

I have also added a media button on the bottom bar (a right-facing arrow, something like a play button) which will display a menu of all the media links available, if any, for the current chapter. This is instead of putting the media links within the content window at the bottom.

I have also added support for previous and next chapter flick handling which should work for all books.

I have also added support for double finger flick to jump to the bottom or top of the current chapter. (http://beckism.com/2011/02/power-scrolling-webos/)

As part of these changes I have renamed the static catalog json files with 10 as the platform ID rather than 1. That means you'll have to either manually rename these files on your device if you have already installed my multi-lingual GLCatalog app and one or more of its associated content zips or you can delete the .ldswebos folder and re-extract the content zips.

Also, I have renamed the sub-folders containing Chinese, Japanese, and Tagalog content from chi, jap, and tag to zho, jpn, and tgl in order to match the 3 character names for these languages. You can rename these folders manually or delete and re-extract the content zips if you have those languages installed.

I would be extremely grateful if I could get some people to try out this multi-lingual version (at least the English portion) and let me know of any problems you encounter.

The links are the same as in the above post except for these three files:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53437658/webos_content_jpn.zip
