LANDesk "Inventory Scanner for Windows" had to close abruptly

Post by clayjm »

Bishop reports DELL OptiPlex 580 running Windows XP after login keeps displaying message "Inventory Scanner for Windows" had to close abruptly. Did some searching and it looks like this is a LANDesk issue. Did not find it mentioned when searching here. Anyone familiar with this issue and what the solution is?

Ditto. Michael - glad to hear from a fellow Alaskan. My parents are in the Sterling ward.

Hello, all! I'm the product manager for LANDesk at HQ. You may want to try re-installing the LANDesk client (available on the MLS download site). However, there are some changes coming, so if it's not really bothering you, I would just leave it for now.

Is this LANDesk client included under one of the following options under "Local Unit Security Software on the MLS download site?
Local Unit Security Software
Click here to download Computer Management Software (20M)
(Updated 22 December 2009)
Click here to download Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware Software Installer (Sophos) - 109 MB
(Updated 22 December 2009)
(definition updates happen automatically for broadband units)

That is the correct location for admin computers. FHC computers have a different download.
