Stake & ward telephone service

Telephone lines

The stake is authorized for one office telephone line for the stake and one for each ward/branch in the stake. Clerk offices, interview rooms, and computer rooms should all be tied to that line. Each building can also have one hall phone for member use, but should be restricted from long distance, directory assistance, and 800 number dialing. All the wards should send their ward telephone bills to the stake to be paid. The stake uses the Other: Stake & Ward Telephone Service category to pay for these expenses. This account is automatically set up in MLS. Please do not create any additional OTHER sub-categories for reimbursable telephone services.

Note: Some stakes have their phone bills paid directly by Church Administration and do not need to write a check for the phone bill. The expense will still show on the monthly Unit Financial Statement for verification purposes.
