Template talk:Other languages

This template doesn't work when the title of the page has a slash in it. I tried to apply this template to the Audio/visual conferencing (meetinghouse) page, and it did not work correctly. The new template still exists - add {{Other languages/Audio/visual conferencing (meetinghouse)}} to the page to see the problem. - Ken 20:00, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

I know that Ken Knapton is unlikely to read this, but I figured I should respond belatedly in case anyone else has the same question. This template doesn't work when the title of the page has a slash in it because the LDSTech wiki has subpages enabled. That means that any slash in a title is interpreted as separating the page title from the subpage title. In particular, subpages are used specifically for the translation mechanism, and the Other languages template (and related templates) rely heavily on the subpage mechanism. The bottom line is that slashes should never be used in article titles. Slashes should only be used for subpages. -- Aebrown 04:15, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

I ran into another problem using this template. See Central America area implementation plan (Meetinghouse Internet) and South America South area implementation plan (Meetinghouse Internet). Both show the template doesn't exist - but if you click on the red link, it takes you to the correct template. The common thread here is that both of these pages were moved, since the original name had a spelling error. I cannot get this template to now recognize the page it should be attached to. - Ken 20:48, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

These links seem to work now, so Ken or someone else must have fixed it in the meantime. -- Aebrown 04:15, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
