Duties of Stake Technology Specialist

#1

Post by bushwr »

There are various resources available for ward and stake clerks, including handbooks, MLS FAQs and tips, and online training modules (see LDS.org>Serving in the Church>Melchizedek Priesthood>Record-Keeping and Auditing Training). With the recent introduction of the Stake Technology Specialist Web site, the Church is beginning to provide important training and support information for stake technology specialists.

As a starter for this forum, you may want to check out the Roles and Responsibilities feature on the home page of the STS Web site (www.staketech.lds.org );the duties and responsibilities of the stake technology specialist can be found there.

The feature for this "Stake technology specialist roles and responsibilities" article has been moved from the home page. Just search for "Roles" and you will find it.

Changing to more general Clerk and Technology Support Web site

#4

Post by bushwr »

The Roles and Responsibilities feature on the home page directed readers to an article that summarized the duties of the Stake Technology Specialist. We felt that this was important because most STS do not have access to the General Handbook of Instructions Book 1 where these duties are detailed. The article is still important. However, over the past several weeks, we have been preparing the Stake Technology Specialist Web site to expand its reach--to serve not only the Stake specialist but all ward and stake clerks. Today we took the next step by changing the name of the Web site to Clerk and Technology Support to reflect this new scope. We'll be making an announcement to this effect soon. Finally, to your question--since the Web site now applies to more than just the STS, we felt the Roles and Responsibilities feature need not command such a prominent position on the home page. We may bring it back out front later with a revised title.

Hi all

I was called to serve as a Tech specialist at my stake, I began to navigate the stake clerk site and I become a bit surprised because there is a lot of work to do  and when i found this site i felt more calm; I was reading some threads and saw that many of my concerns are already answered.

Thank you guys for sharing what you have learn with us, and for sure I will be asking very soon

Welcome Herbert! I'm glad you found us. I agree, it's great to be able to share ideas and concerns in an open forum like this and not have to re-learn what others have already discovered.

Best wishes in your new calling. I'm sure before long you'll be adding a few tips here that we can benefit from. :)
So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.
