I am the Stake Clerk. On my reports, from eight wards, there are some realistic values for annual tithing, some obvious incorrect values, and lots of blanks with no numbers, for full tithe payers.
How do the tithing numbers get onto the report? Are they automatically populated, or does a clerk have to manually enter them?

They are automatically populated based on the donations given to the local unit, plus the online or bill pay contributions that flow back to the unit.akrusinger wrote:How do the tithing numbers get onto the report? Are they automatically populated, or does a clerk have to manually enter them?
Keep in mind that a member may pay tithing directly to Headquarters, or pay tithing in kind, and the amount on the local unit Tithing Declaration Report will be zero. The member may still be a full tithe payer and the Report will so indicate.

Members with no income may also declare full tithe.

Or exempt, depending on the circumstances.sbradshaw wrote:Members with no income may also declare full tithe.

"Or exempt, depending on the circumsances."
I have never heard of someone being "exempt" from tithing. What does that mean?

It's only a historical curiosity at this point, since it has not been a possible tithing declaration for two years now (see this post). Note that you're replying to a post that is well over two years old.rheroux wrote:"Or exempt, depending on the circumsances."

You could search the forum for discussions of "exempt status" or "exempt declaration" if your're really curious.
