Children's records after divorce

#1

Post by amberrowlett »

Is there a way to get access to my children's records? My records are in a different ward since they spend most weekends with their father. Can their records be placed in two different wards at the same time or can I get them added to my LDS tools as well so that I can see directory information in order to reach their youth leaders?

If the goal is being able to see the youth leaders, making a change to your children's records is not going to help. You'd have to be added to that ward.

Note that if the ward is in the same stake, you should be able to change the ward in LDS Tools and see who the leaders are. If they're in a different stake, then that's not going to work.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

Your ward can create out-of-unit records for you children. That will allow leaders in your ward to see their information and will make them show up on attendance rolls. It may show them in LDS Tools for your ward as well (although I'm not sure that is the case yet).

But as russellhltn said, that will not let you see information about the ward where their records are located. There is no way to do that for wards outside your stake unless you have an out-of-unit calling in that ward.
