Marking up documents like “The Living Christ”

Is there a way to take a document like “The Living Christ” and mark it (each phrase making reference to a an event or doctrine noted in the Scriptures) so that as one studies it, he/she becomes familiar with the documented reference for later study. There are several references noted in the official document now, but there are other doctrines stated in which it would be helpful to me as a teacher to refer students to for clarification. For example, “He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our pre-mortal existence,...” [right here would be a good place to make note of those scriptures throughout the standard works which bolster the statement of doctrine—what’s been revealed about our premortal lives]. Maybe others study in the same way.
This sacred Testimony is such a good, short statement of our doctrine that, having memorized it, it becomes a useful tool to go forward in a discussion of our doctrine of who Jesus is and what He has done for us and what He does for us eternally. Scriptural references would be helpful to the missionary and teacher to ‘defend’ and clarify, if necessary, a particular statement of doctrine. Perhaps there’s something already developed for it but because of age I just don’t know about it. Please advise.

Yes, the Gospel Library app allows you to select phrases and add notes or cross-reference links to those phrases. When you select text, a menu will appear above or below the selection with annotation options. Gospel Library Online also allows you to mark up phrases (though user-created cross-reference links aren't fully supported yet).
