Hi all -
We haven noticed that a particular member had a duplicate record created by accident and we don't have the ability to correct this. We have to remove one as one is marked as Male and the other Female. We have to remove the Male record as the member is female.
I tried clicking on the Help link on LCR but the Service Now link keeps circling and I can't get to it to open a ticket.
Is there an email address that I could use to contact support and provide the screenshots to resolve this issue?
Regards,
Frank

You can send a message to membership support via MLS.

Re: Duplicate Record Removal
I believe there's also a "special request" function in MLS and LCR that could be used.
But I thought there was a dedicated route - something about deleting the record and when asked for the reason, you indicate it's a duplicate.

Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

LCR has the ability to merge duplicate records. It's found under Membership > Merge Duplicate Records in the LCR menu.russellhltn wrote:But I thought there was a dedicated route - something about deleting the record and when asked for the reason, you indicate it's a duplicate.

Thanks. If you merge records which record will be kept in that scenario? I am guessing it is the newest created one as that would appear logically as a correction. Is that accurate?

Re: Duplicate Record Removal
From the Help Center article Merge Duplicate Records it sounds like the actual merge is performed manually by someone at CHQ. It doesn't mention whether you can provide notes to guide that process. I'd assume that if there are conflicts which are not obvious on how to resolve that they would contact the ward.fnovak wrote:Thanks. If you merge records which record will be kept in that scenario? I haven't had a need to do it myself so I can't say for certain how the process works.

If all else fails, a clerk can call the member service center...they can help with all sorts of strange problems.
