Youth Circle 'Threads' Disappearing/Losing History

#1

Post by junglebaykarma »

We are leaning heavily into using Gospel Living to communicate with our youth during the quarantine. We run daily challenges to help us stay in touch with the youth and to help them stay better connected with each other. As you can imagine, our youth circle 'thread' has gotten quite large over time. Beginning this past Sunday (Apr 26th) our entire youth 'thread' first disappeared and since that time it is only retaining a history of a comment or two in the 'thread'. This is making it really difficult to leverage the app for this purpose as we are losing track of who is engaging and what is being posted. We have also verified that this is happening to everyone as we've asked several youth and leaders who have all validated the issue. If this continues we'll likely have to explore communication via external channels, which would be very unfortunate given that we're using the app for its intended purpose and it provides a layer of security and control that is not easily replicated or managed elsewhere.

I was going to ask the same thing.

If you need, here’s some instructions on how to submit feedback. I also included snapshots of how to do it.

Thanks for the replies. I believe my 1st counselor submitted the feedback, but I'll do the same. Thank you!

Administrators can remove any post in a circle. Check with all administrators to find out if someone isn't "cleaning up" the circle posts.

Ouch. They may be trying to clean "their" box as a way of keeping track of what's been read without realizing they're affecting the whole group.

Thanks for the tip regarding Admins removing posts. I posted an alert to the youth circle last night to inform all admins (i.e.- leaders) not to remove posts as it will remove them from everyone's view and we haven't lost any posts since that time. So, that looks like it did the trick. I'm just glad I didn't have to try to figure out which admin was the culprit. ;)

Thanks for reporting back. I doubt if that's the last time that mistake will be made in the church.
