FIR app now won't work without fingerprint scanner?

So I just tried opening the FIR app on my phone and it shuts down with an error message: "This device does not have a fingerprint sensor". Now, it has been been a week or two since I last used this, so the update must have been since then. Does anyone have any info about this update?

I have the latest, April 22, 2020, Android version 2.2.0 (31033.19) and I do not have that issue. I looked to see if that was an option to sign in and it was. While that feature was turned on by default I do not have it set up on my phone and it did not require me to use it.
