I was answering russellhltn, who was posting about transferring a private Zoom account over to the church's enterprize Zoom account.

When I try to create an account, I just get the message "Cannot create a new Zoom Account." So far I've only tried to create one for the Stake, not the wards. Could there be an issue if the email address we want to associate with this (the executive secretary) is also associated with an existing civilian zoom account? EDIT. Yes it appears that you must use an email address not already associated with a zoom account. So basically this means we may have to create gmail accounts for the wards. A lot of folk already have zoom accounts associated with their personal email addresses.

The following 2 topics will help:

Single email address for multiple virtual meeting accounts

Transfer Local Unit Zoom account to General Church account

I have been asked to request a zoom account for my ward but I'm only a ATS. We only have one STS for our stake. And unless I misunderstood the letter sent out he can only request one license. Should this not be accessible on a ATS level? Otherwise how are individual units suppose to acquire a church approved account?

According to Transfer Local Unit Zoom account to General Church account, that shouldn't be an issue. But perhaps that only works if it's a paid account and not a free one. Or, perhaps that account is already associated with another "group" (such as a group account for an employer).

Can you find out what kind of account is already associated with that email address?
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

I am getting the “Cannot create Zoom account “ error on several email addresses, and at least one is a paid account.
When I tried an email address with a free zoom account on it, there was no error.

Any reason why I as an STS have still not received the letter? I got caught off guard by bishops who have already received it.

I created the new google account before I was an Assistant Clerk -- Technology Specialist. I am now the STS. I still do not have the option to create the new zoom accounts. Any way to make an adjustment?

This is great news. When I told my bishop about this, he wondered how many meetings the account would be able to host concurrently. Basically, would this account be able to have multiple meetings going on at the same time? Today we had about 5 meetings (2 priesthood, 2 young women, and relief society) going on at the same time, but all limited to 40 minutes. Will this account be able to schedule those at the same time and just allow others to be the host of the meeting?
