My meetinghouse seminary teachers mentioned that their early morning class is disrupted every day (except Monday) when the network forces them to reaccept the terms of use every 24 hours.
Is anyone else running into this?
What can we do/tell them to do to allow the class to proceed without disruption. They're hosting mixed in-person and virtual early morning classes so the internet access renewal is a bit disruptive.

Add the device to the NoSplash Group Policy Manager in Technology Manager. This will allow the device to bypass the terms of use acceptance screen. See the attached Screenshot..

Re: 24 hour terms of use acceptance disrupts seminary
Thanks. I'll ask our stake technology representatives if they can do this.
If I owned the network I'd be a little concerned about adding individual's private devices to exceptions, but I'll definitely ask.
I'm just a parent trying to help seminary teachers:)
Do you know if the stake or facilities managers can modify the time limits of the policies?
I can think of other ways to do this - like cancel everyone's terms of use acceptance at a certain time (like 3:00 am). No one is teaching a class at 3:00 am from the church - I imagine.
Appreciate the suggestion. I'm open to others.

It works, but it's a klunky way to go about it. It doesn't scale well.NormanKR wrote:Add the device to the NoSplash Group Policy Manager in Technology Manager. This will allow the device to bypass the terms of use acceptance screen. See the attached Screenshot..

I'm not sure what tools the church has. It'd think setting the time to something like 18 hours would do it.

Is this happening during the actual class? You have to accept the terms every day. But I do not know if it is on a strict 24-hour timer or established by date.michaelseanray wrote:Thanks. I'll ask our stake technology representatives if they can do this.

Your stake technology specialist will have a problem adding the entire seminary class to the NoSplash group. There is a limit to the number of devices that can be added. Our stake only has one class small enough where everyone could be added.

Also, the device has to be added while on the network. It's not something that can be done later.

We're not really worried about the students in the class. Our stake runs simultaneous in person and online classes. So students who are comfortable coming into class with the covid compliant protocols come in. Other students join online. In the classroom only two teachers are online. They use a device (called an Owl) to integrate the classroom material, audience and discussion with the students who join online from home. So only the teachers' 2 computers are ever online.
Our Stake technology specialist has implemented a solution for those two computers.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
