Class and Quorum Attendance LCR - Who has rights?

Post by robertbrandi »

Where can I can see who has rights to record attendance for each organization? For example, do Sunday School and Primary teachers have the rights to record?

There is an Access Table at Leader and Clerk Resources. According to that table, teachers are not able to record attendance online. Members of the Sunday School and Primary presidencies do have access.

We need a better process for individual classes to record attendance and communicate it to the organization secretary/presidency to enter into LCR. It's probably not realistic to expect every class to record attendance using LCR or Member Tools (even if they had access rights, which they don't). Do secretaries need the ability to print paper rolls for this purpose?

Secretaries can already print paper rolls if that’s what is needed in your local unit.

Primary secretaries are listed as being members of Primary presidencies, but our primary secretary is reporting that she does not have access. Can anyone confirm that your Primary Secretary has the ability to access the Class and Quorum attendance tool?

Thanks.

Primary secretaries are listed as being members of Primary presidencies
I understand it's easy to get confused about Presidencies, I know in some places Secretaries are listed as members of Presidencies (or the Ward Clerk as a member of the Bishopric). However, GHB 12.3.2 and 12.3.3 list the Primary Secretary as outside the Primary Presidency, so I expect the Access Table listing of "Primary Presidency" does exclude the secretary.

The secretary being outside the presidency is also reflected in that when a Primary President is released, only the Counselors must also be released (even if they're going to be re-sustained to the exact same callings), while the secretary remains unaffected (unless her calling is also changing, of course!).

Of course, the question of whether the Primary Secretary should have access to the class rolls, is a different issue, and I agree that the answer is definitely "yes"! The only way to push for this to change would be to submit feedback on any page in LCR.

As a long time clerk I was aware of that. It might be nice if at least the access tool separated out the secretarys as a separate entity from the presidency so we could know for sure what their access was.

If your Primary secretary is using the correct account, she should have access.

Once again, "Primary Presidency" definition is different! Looks like I was wrong whether the secretary would be included in the "Presidency" category for LCR Access. I'm glad to be wrong in this case, it's good for secretaries to have access to class rolls.

Sigh. Maybe we need to start using a "Presidency+" designation to specify if we're talking about the secretary included or not!
