Navigation Bar appears but no Navigation Drop-down Menu

Post by kevinmiller5 »

Hi, I am using the Gospel Library latest app version on on iOS 14.4.2. I can toggle between full screen without the navigation bar and non-full screen with the navigation bar with a double click on the screen. Nevertheless, when I have the navigation bar showing, I do not see the navigation drop-down menu. When I click the back arrow to go to a previous page, the navigation drop-down menu shows for a fraction of a second then disappears. How can get the navigation drop-down menu option to show all the time as it used to a couple of months ago. Thank you.

Please be sure to send feedback through the app. This is a user-to-user help forum and the developers do not normally see items that are posted here.

In the meantime, if a user has figured out a workaround for the problem, they usually will post it here.

I've seen a couple of people report this before, but haven't been able to reproduce it on my own device. When you first go to a chapter of content, is the title/drop-down there? Does it disappear after a sequence of events, like opening the sidebar, or rotating the device, or entering the exiting full screen mode – or, does it never show, even when you first get to the chapter? Do you have any accessibility settings turned on under iOS Settings > Accessibility, like Magnifier, bold/larger text, button shapes, reduced transparency, motion settings, etc.? If so, does turning any of those settings off fix the issue?

I went into accessibility, and turned off stuff in reduced motion and it fixed the problem

Thanks

Good Morning. Has anyone figured how to fix this problem. I am now stuck in the Old Testament I used to be able to pull down the chapters of a book and go into another place on the app, but I have only been able to slide by chapter back and forth in the Old Testament for about 3 weeks now with no more pull down no matter how I touch it. I know it disappears when you double tap the screen and reappears the same way. Thank you

Some people with the missing drop-down menu have been able to fix it by going to iOS Settings > Accessibility > Motion, and turning "Reduce Motion" off – then, either force-closing and reopening Gospel Library, or restarting their phone. If this doesn't work, you should be able to use the back button in the top left to go back to the main library.

Samuel, so I've reported this through the app, but is this work-around known to the dev team? Some people can't tolerate motion, for one thing, and the majority of members do not frequent this forum to know about this work-around.

Yes, this is logged as a bug. However, for the curious, there are currently 740 bugs logged for iOS Gospel Library (and 542 for Android Gospel Library) – not including new features and enhancements – so priority has not risen very high.
