Gender Change

Post by tbird321 »

I have a member whos record has an invalid Gender.

I did some research and was told that this requires a letter to the office of the First Presidency.
Do you know if this is the case and if so what if any supporting documentation is required to adjust the gender of an individual who is a head of household with a child.

thanks,

Theron

I recommend discussing with the bishop or stake president. They can counsel with their Area Presidency if they have questions. There is some information in section 38 of the church handbook (towards the bottom of 38.2.5.4 is one of them).

There are situations were the letter is required and further information is available by calling the Global Services Department (GSD).

The big question here is are we talking about the gender of the member, or the gender recorded on the records?

Assuming that the member hasn't made any changes and this is just a paperwork issue, I'd think you should be able to work this out with support. Because it's a sensitive issue, it might take more paperwork then normal to fix it.
