Access Point Installation Issue

#1

Post by kwillisjr »

Hello,
One of the access points recently installed does not show an IP address and the Status box is blank (in Technology Manager). The access point appears to be working: ie. it indicates that I am connected to it (blue light). This is a Meraki MR33 access point. I've tried rebooting a couple of times and there is no change in Technology Manager. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ken

When I had this happen it was because the wire from the AP to the Firewall was partly bad. The AP was working, but it was not talking to the Firewall so it was not getting an IP address.

If you check really carefully, I think you will find that any Internet access you are getting is going through one of the other APs in your building.

You might also check and verify that the AP has a direct connection to a Meraki switch and that port is set to AP. No switches or other devices in between. Some have indicated that no even a PoE power injector can be in between the two devices.

Beyond that, I'd check with support. It's possible the AP (or the rest of the system) is associated with the wrong property.
