Nesting how to handle records
How do I enter records of presidencies when nesting with another ward?

Can you be a little more descriptive? I know in the case of YSA wards, the membership records stay in the home wards and the YSA ward sets them up as "Out of Unit" members.

Re: Nesting how to handle records
Perhaps the OP is referring to those who spend part of the year in one area of the country and the rest of the year somewhere else, as in retired couples who move south to warmer weather in the winter then north again when their original home town warms back up. But that's just a wild guess on my part...

General Handbook 33.6.4:
This may be something the two bishops should work out.
The way I read it, snow birds can be handled either way. Either you can request the record and make them a full member of the ward, or you can just add them as a "out of unit" member. Please note, out of unit members generally can't minister or be ministers. A bishop also can't issue a temple recommend for someone who is not a full member of the ward. When a person moves from a ward for more than three months, a clerk moves the membership record to the new ward. As an exception, the record is not moved if the member intends to return after leaving for temporary or seasonal employment purposes that may last longer than three months.
When a person moves from the ward for less than three months and plans to return, the membership record is kept in the home ward. The home ward also maintains the member’s financial records.
If leaders are uncertain about where a membership record should be ..., they make sure it is kept in the ward that can best meet the person’s needs.
This may be something the two bishops should work out.

Re: Nesting how to handle records
Since you mention presidencies, are you in a ward where youth and primary are combined with another ward, and the presidency has members from both wards?

Yes this is our situation. We will have combined YW, Primary and YM quorums. We are trying to see if we can get visibility to records and how to assign callings in the system.

For leadership, you can add them as out of unit leaders to the other ward. They will then hold the same calling in both wards.
That will make them visible to the membership as well as giving them access to reports of both units. However, they'll have to run two reports - one for each ward. The classes themselves will not be merged.
