Why can't I see all the members' callings in the Organization section?
When I go to the Organization section of Member Tools and tap Bishopric, for example, I only see the bishop. His two counselors are missing. Same with every other organization In the ward. My husband, the bishop, can see everyone in their respective callings in Organization. Is this because of privacy rules or dependent on leadership role?

I have checked with a family member who is not a leader, and they can see all Bishopric and presidency members when using Member Tools on their phone. So the normal suggestions would seem in order: manually forcing a data sync from inside the App, and if that doesn't work then uninstalling-reinstalling the App.

It probably depends on what country you live in.
The United States is a "opt out" country, where members become private only if they opt out. But in areas such as Europe, they're a "opt in" country - members have to select to allow the general membership to see them. As a result, the Member Tools app typically doesn't show much in when Europe.
The bishop, as well as most of the Ward Council, would have the ability to see everyone in the ward regardless of settings.
I'm afraid the calling "bishop's wife" doesn't grant any special privileges.

Unless the wife is using the bishop's account. Note: Don't do that, it is not okay.russellhltn wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 8:06 pm I'm afraid the calling "bishop's wife" doesn't grant any special privileges.

It is both privacy rules and leadership role.Kristidraper wrote: Sun Jan 02, 2022 12:21 pm When I go to the Organization section of Member Tools and tap Bishopric, for example, I only see the bishop. You are in an opt-in country, which means that information on members is private by default unless the member explicitly opts to share that information. That means that you only get to see information on members who have made a decision to opt in to sharing their information. Both of the bishopric counselors have not opted to share information, so you do not see their information. That is the same for most of the rest of the ward.
Because your husband is the bishop, he sees all information for the ward. If he looks at what he is seeing in Member Tools, he is going to see a whole bunch of orange padlocks indicating that access to information for those members is restricted.
As russellhltn points out, members in the United States are used to seeing everything because members must opt out of sharing information. That is vastly different from parts of the world where members must choose to share their information.

Just wondering -- in those areas where opt-in is required, does the Bishop also fall under this category, or is his info always visible when serving as Bishop? How about the EQ and RS Presidents? That is vastly different from parts of the world where members must choose to share their information
It's always good to be reminded that "my experience" may be vastly different from (most) other members throughout the world, and this thread piqued my interest to learn a bit more.

If the bishop's information is marked as private, his information will not be visible in Member Tools to members without a leadership role.BrianEdwards wrote: Tue Jan 04, 2022 11:17 amJust wondering -- in those areas where opt-in is required, does the Bishop also fall under this category, or is his info always visible when serving as Bishop? So, if no one opts in, Member Tools is completely empty for the general membership?scgallafent wrote: Tue Jan 04, 2022 11:57 am If the bishop's information is marked as private, his information will not be visible in Member Tools to members without a leadership role.
I guess this means that in OP's case, someone may have had a talk with the key leaders to "uncloak" so they could be visible to their flock.

In this scenario, I wonder if the only way for regular members to look up their bishop's contact information would be via the meetinghouse locator tool on the church website.russellhltn wrote: Tue Jan 04, 2022 12:57 pm So, if no one opts in, Member Tools is completely empty for the general membership?

Re: Why can't I see all the members' callings in the Organization section?
I kind of doubt the church would be able to publish the information on the webpage without the bishop's permission. I'd imagine there's a bit of "negotiation" going on as part of the interview for the calling with the end result that all bishops have given permission to be public at least for the term of their calling.davesudweeks wrote: Tue Jan 04, 2022 8:15 pm In this scenario, I wonder if the only way for regular members to look up their bishop's contact information would be via the meetinghouse locator tool on the church website.
