Our Stake just dissolved two wards this Sunday. As a Ward Clerk in one of these wards I am trying to see if there is a group function to move records out without clicking on each individual household.
Thanks for your assistance as seek to move records to the two wards that our membership is being transferred to.

There is, but I believe you should work with your stake clerk to accomplish this task. I would contact him immediately.jsnauvoo wrote: Wed Apr 24, 2024 8:41 pm Our Stake just dissolved two wards this Sunday. I'd start with the Help Center article Procedures for a Discontinued Ward: Instructions for Ward and Stake Clerks

Re: Ward Boundary Realignment/ Dissolving a Ward
Thanks for those ideas. Our Stake Clerk had called me and ask me to push some buttons.
As a previous Ward Clerk in MIS/FIS, and MLS I thought I remembered functionality to either pull or send records based on addresses.
We found a work around by using the MAP feature and a printed Ward Directory to pull records from a section on the map. Good Old highlighters are great things.
Does anyone remember 2.3.1. I think that was a MIS menu command. That or it was a Marriott PMS system report. 28 years in hospitality and and 28 years from the time I first got called as a Branch Clerk.
Technology is a wonderful thing.

Re: Ward Boundary Realignment/ Dissolving a Ward
The current function for ward clerks to move records out for a boundary realignment (including merging wards, or portion of a ward into 1 or more wards) is LCR > Membership > Move Records after Boundary Realignment. This requires the clerk moving the records out to have a list of names from the stake if members are going to more than one ward.

There are also reports in the boundary proposal app that show who should be moved from each ward to other wards. The stake clerk can see those reports if he goes in and looks at the approved proposal (it's been a while since I've had access there but they were very helpful for that move process).

The last step about emailing the Global Service Center is really replaced with the stake clerk's process that they can follow in LCR to indicate that the proposal has been implemented.russellhltn wrote: Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:03 pm I'd start with the Help Center article Procedures for a Discontinued Ward: Instructions for Ward and Stake Clerks

MLS had an option that would list the heads of household and you were able to check off the ones that needed to be moved. If you were sending records to two wards, for example, you would call up the list and check off the names for one of the wards and submit it. Then you would call up the list again and check all of the remaining names to send them to the second ward.jsnauvoo wrote: Wed Apr 24, 2024 10:18 pm As a previous Ward Clerk in MIS/FIS, and MLS I thought I remembered functionality to either pull or send records based on addresses.
As others have posted, things are better since then and it all happens through LCR. LCR was not a thing when I did it last.
Even then we had someone from the stake oversee the process. We always sent a list of names to the units and asked them to send the records to the new units. The stake had that information because it was used in the process of preparing the boundary realignment request. It sounds as if LCR now helps the stake gather those names. Back when we still checked our email by candlelight, we had to generate those lists manually.
