Finding missionaries who baptized my parents

Post by louisareneeramsey »

Hello,
I hope this is a platform where I can troubleshoot. My parents, who are now deceased, were baptized in 1975. How can I track down these Elders. I only want to thank them and share the beautiful legacy set in motion by their service to my family. Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA

Did your parents keep their baptism/confirmation certificates? If so, they may have the names of those who performed the ordinances. That's very likely the only point from which the search can start.

Unfortunately they did not keep their certificate. I am embarrassed to say that my father was excommunicated. So he for sure did not have his.

You could try looking for a social media group for a mission that would cover your area. And then ask in that group.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

If your parents had journals or letters from the period, you might check those for information.
