Desktop icon is missing...

Post by idigweeds »

How do I place a Gospel Library program icon on the Windows 11 desktop? When I installed the app, it did not create an icon there. Further, when I searched for a program/executable file to create one, it could not be found.

Edit: I should add that I have set icons to be displayed on the desktop and there are, in fact, other programs icons displayed. The current icons displayed on the Task Bar and Start Menu do open the program as intended.

On Windows 10 you can search for the app using the search on the start menu, then pin it to the start menu. Once it's pinned on start right mouse drag to the desktop will create an icon on the desktop.

Not sure if any of that is different on Windows 11.

Windows 11 --
Installation from Microsoft Store puts an icon into the START MENU. When I click on "Start" (bottom left in Windows 11) there is a summary of (pinned?) icons. The Gospel Library icon does not respond to right-click/drag. With left-click/drag there is a popup cursor "Copy" which does NOT drop anything onto the desktop.
Next I opened the long LIST of installed applications and scrolled down to Gospel Library. Left-click/drag opens a popup cursor "Link" which I can drag to the desired destination and release. That places the shortcut right where I want it on the desktop.
