Young Woman not showing in her class

Post by mpolder »

We have a young woman turning 12 this month (January 2025) who isn't showing up in the assigned Young Women class and there isn't a way to add her that I can see.

The most likely reason she does not show in the default class is she was manually placed in a class not her default class. When this is done they are not automatically moved based on age to their default class.

If you are a ward clerk you can use her membership record to get her into the proper class. With the record open go to the Callings/Classes tab and scroll down to the Class Assignments section to edit her proper class (default class).

If you are a Young Women presidency member you will need to ask your ward clerk to move her into her default YM class since you do not have her listed in any YW classes and you do not have access to the primary class assignments page needed to get her moved into a YW class.

Occasionally a class gets dropped for a person (not sure how yet) and then their membership page only shows the one class and doesn't have a way to add the other one. The solution is to go to the class she is supposed to be in, click on the Members tab and then at the bottom of the members list click on Add Member. That will add them into the class.

Thank you! The second post was the answer for me, not sure why I didn't see the Add Member link there at the lower right.
