Current Streak seems to be lost when travelling back from Australia to UK

My wife recently returned from visiting family in Australia but her current streak was lost even though she logged in daily and when they stopped in Qatar on the way.

Any clue how this works? Or what to do to prevent this?

I would suspect that the reset happened on the way from UK to Australia. Each time Gospel Library opens, it seems to check the current date on the device. If the date is one more than the last time GL opened, everything updates. If more than one day has elapsed, it resets. Even if GL was opened in Qatar, the 12-14 hour flight to Australia from there, along with the 8-hour time change, may have been enough to undue the streak once the local time updated.

A late departure from UK or Qatar might result in an early arrival in Australia on the 2nd calendar day, based on local times. I suppose the time could be moved back manually on the device before opening GL, then updated again before opening the app the next time. Another way would be not to allow automatic date/time updates until you have manually stepped through each day and opened GL each time.

The Longest Streak should still be there, along with the learning gained through actual personal daily study, which is what really counts. I wonder if any of the General Authorities have seen this phenomenon. Your wife is probably in good company.
