Library copy machine admin password?

Post by jimandchrisphillips »

Is there a standard admin password used for library Xerox copiers? None of the Xerox default passwords work (1111, S/N, etc).

Depends on the machine and also if someone has changed the admin password. I would try a few common ones first.

That’s what I’ve done. All the Xerox default passwords. No one in the stake knows. The FM group kicked it back to the Bishop and told him to contact me (stake Tech specialist). Not sure where to go next other than telling the stake to buy another printer and don’t change the default password this time. 🤷‍♂️

Have you pulled the manual to see if there's a way to reset the Admin password?
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

There is a procedure you can follow that involves calling Xerox support and providing a code from the copier and current number of "impressions", where they then give you a code that resets the Admin password. I had to do this recently on a Xerox VersaLink B625.

Check the manual. Sometimes people write it down in there. (Me. I’m people.) I also tell all incoming clerks and Sunday School presidents. I also used the WiFi password so it is simple enough and posted in the resource center.
