Just setup to see if Trello will work for our Stake. It does do some automation like when moving things from one column to another you can have email sent automatically. There is a vote option as well as poll options, but I have not really tried those just yet. I want to see how well it will work for our Stake Presidency before we start looking more into that.

Trello does seem like it might work. But it does take more work to maintain the automations when people like High Council change as it appears you will need to update the automations with the new email addresses. Since I just started using it though, it is possible there is an easier way I have not figured out yet. Plus will take training the High Council to go to the “card” to vote. So might be growing pains, but doable, Too bad there is not something as easy was LDS callings was for those that might be less computer savvy to maintain.

LDSCallings was something we were using as a stake until it was shut down in January of this year 2025. I found it interesting that this thread says that it was discontinued over 15 years ago, and now has again. It was a wonderful tool for managing the workflow of calling management. We have been struggling since to keep on top of callings, where they are in the process, and efficiencies we had with LDSCallings. Is there anything in development or even being considered within LCR to help give the leaders tools to help in this part of the administrative work at ward and stake levels?

Primary features we liked and used frequently were:
Recommendations for callings
Approvals by the stake presidency
Approvals by the High Council
List of who to call in for an interview and extend a calling for executive secretary
Sustaining sheets for sacrament meetings
Setting apart lists
Record update lists for the clerk.
You can see what was available here: http://web.archive.org/web/202501210257 ... lings.com/

Are there any other applications available that you all are currently using or know of?

It does? Please note that the dates on the right-hand side of the page is the date the individual joined the forum. The dates in the upper left show when the post was made.

This thread started in December of 2024, less then a year ago.

This type of question is asked regularly, regarding different areas of LCR that might benefit from additional development by the Church. Unfortunately, the Church rarely publishes future development plans, so it's challenging to predict what might be in their internal plans. Even more unfortunately, there's a few examples from recent years where the Church has mentioned upcoming development efforts, that either have been severely delayed in their implementation, or have even appeared to have fallen off the radar completely. And there is never any official reason given.

Based off previous discussion threads, I would say that general Forum consensus is that the Church is unlikely to develop any type of tool that helps keep track of callings. There's assuredly a lot of different viewpoints (technical, legal, priorities, resources, etc) about why that might be the case, but the end result is it seems unlikely any time soon.

Not sure if you found a replacement or not. Our stake was using a solution called clerk tools which is also shutting down, so I built unit-tools.com.

Im actively improving it, but you can try it out by creating a trial account.
