Create New Record Broken?
The Create New Record seems to be broken. I've tried on both my clerk office computer and my home computer, but I'm seeing the same issue in both places. I've added new records before successfully. Whenever I try now, I click self, then fill out the name twice in the two sections, then upload the jpg. But the busy spinner never goes away, so I can't ever click the create record button.

A couple of thoughts. Since you state that you've tried on two different computers, it seems unlikely that cookie buildup would be affecting both computers the exact same way, but it's still possible. So using either computer, try the records transfer from a private/incognito browser window.bryant72 wrote: Sun Nov 30, 2025 12:15 pm The Create New Record seems to be broken. The other thought is that perhaps you simply hit an issue where the church "servers" were not responding. Again, since you tried from two different computers with a time gap in-between, that might not be the case. But there are definitely random times when the Church system won't respond on Sundays, and trying a different day of the week proves successful.
If you try again this week and it still doesn't work, feel free to post that update here and perhaps there's other Forum members who have better ideas about what you could try (beyond calling GSD of course).

Re: Create New Record Broken?
Well now it kind-of works, but not really. The record I'm creating is for a baby. If I try to make the primary household contact the mother (the father isn't a member and the mother lives with her parents), the system is unable to find the mother's record. If I type the last name it only shows her parents, if I type her member number it tells me it can't find the record even though it's in the ward and I copy / pasted the record number from her membership page. If I select one of the mother's parents then the spinner goes away and I presume I would be able to go to the next step, but obviously I wouldn't want to record the baby's grandparents as the parents.
I'm guessing the issue is that the mother isn't a head of household since she lives with her parents. This seems like a bug in the system to me.

Re: Create New Record Broken?
The GSD may be able to provide some insight. In my past years as ward clerk (some years ago, but many years with several different bishops), when a woman had a baby and was still living with her parents, we would make her the head of her own household, at the same address as their parents. This was at the direction of the bishop who holds the keys for that decision - I would counsel with him first.
