When attempting to transfer my email from my missionary account to my personal account I'm encountering an issue preventing me from connecting to the pop server.
I received an email shortly before returning home with instructions on how to transfer emails to my personal email. I've enabled POP for all messages on my missionary email. When I go to my personal email and enter the pop server, username, and password provided in the email from the church most of the time it says "Couldn't connect to the pop server". When I try port 995 it says it says "Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password"
I've verified that the username and password entered exactly match what was provided in the email. I also tried variations on the username (like omitting the @missionary.org)
Any other help or information would be a great help! I understand that after 90 days the missionary email can no longer be access so I'd like to get this resolved quickly since I just recently returned.

I believe you also need to enable something in the account to allow POP3 access. I don't think it's enabled by default. I provided some links for how to enable it for IMAP in another thread, but I think it's the same for POP3:livesayme wrote: Sat Nov 29, 2025 7:30 pm I've verified that the username and password entered exactly match what was provided in the email. I'd also add that the post immediately following the one linked by @ambldsorg (the last post in the "Best practices for management of missionary pics/emails during mission" thread), points to a servicenow help article that all RM's are supposedly able to access. Since the rest of us Forum members aren't within the 90-day RM timeframe, nobody here has likely been able to read it, so I don't know whether it simply replicates the info you received in the email from the church about transferring your messages, or if there is additional information in that help article that might help you resolve the issue.
It would be helpful if you could read that article, and then respond here in the Forum about how it compares to the info in the email from the church. That way in the future, Forum members can know if it's worth pointing other RM's to that servicenow article, or if it's essentially a duplication of what RM's should already know.
