I had a temp user setup for today and they ended up calling me because the app wasn't displaying a door to open even though the system showed in advance when I checked, that they had accepted the invite.
I ended up driving to the Meetinghouse and letting them in.
I then looked them up in the Kindoo app and found that they were already deleted a good 4 hrs before I set the temp user to expire.
I then opened a User-list.csv file that I had previously saved to verify that the User expiry date and time was correct and it was.
Has anyone else experienced this and was there a solution?
Thanks in advance.
A couple of things come to mind:
Any chance the time zone was incorrect? It should have defaulted to your local time zone, but it can be changed when configuring a temporary user.
I've also seen a few users select the "Leave site" option from the site page not realizing it removes them from the KIndoo site, so they get deleted.
I did a bunch of testing with temp users and it worked great, down to the minute, but that was a couple years ago. Something could have changed since. We also configure our temp users to have access for the full day (5am-11pm), rather than a narrow block of time, so we might not see this problem if it were a couple hours one way or the other.

Nope, I'm using/selecting the Mountain time zone when adding users here in Utah.

May be there needs to be a log of deleted users that shows when they were deleted and if it was done automatically or manually.

The option to "Leave site" should then be changed to "Delete User Access" so there is less doubt about what that button does.

As the Stake Kindoo manager with the calling of Stake Technology Specialist, there is a need to be able to verify all of the email addresses used in managing user access in Kindoo.

Stake Technology Specialists do not currently have access to "View Member Profiles", which is shown in "Feature Access by Calling" under the help tab in LCR.

Would it be possible to have access granted to Stake Technology Specialists to be able to "View Member Profiles"?
Or should there be a new Standard calling made for the "Stake Kindoo Manager" with access to "View Member Profiles"?

What other options might there be available?
I would just request a list of emails from a ward or stake clerk.

That log exists. It's just not visible to us. They log lots of stuff. It will likely show up for our use eventually, but possibly only at the admin level.

Even "Delete User Access" wouldn't be obvious to some users. Kindoo currently displays, a pretty clear warning message when you choose "Leave Site", but apparently, users just click past it without paying attention. I hasn't happened a lot. Probably less than 10 times across the 4 thousand users in the sites I support, but it has happened.

That list could get out of date rather fast in today's world. Also many people are marking their phone and email as private and warning messages in tools and online indicate that they are not to be shared. So generating a list of the entire stake and passing it along probably isn't the best approach.

Site Dashboard-Never issued a command (in the past 4-6 months)

I can see that in the future, the data of "Never issued a command" would be more useful if a date range could be selected.
For example, if a user opened a door 8 months ago, they will not show up in the "Never issued a command" data.
But if a date range could be selected for the past 6 months in the "Never issued a command" data, then it would be more useful to know who is not needing building access very often.
I know you can look at a users log to see their activity, but it would be much more efficient to be able to generate a list of those who haven't opened a door in the past 6 months.
Instead of Never issued a command for a title, maybe it could say "Never Opened a Door".
Maybe someone already knows a way to generate this type of list of users that have never opened a door in the past 4-6 months.
Thanks for your consideration.

I enjoy a good challenge, so through it would be fun to give this one a try. I was able to get that list in just a couple minutes, but it's slightly kludgy :) .
  • Export the list of users to a CSV
  • Export the logs to a CSV based on the date range you care to view.
  • Open them both up in a spreadsheet
  • In the user list, concatenate the first and last names to create the full user name column, because that's how it's listed in the logs
  • Use VLOOKUP or a similar spreadsheet function to tag users in the user list who are found in the logs. Those not found are your target group.
Like I said, it's a little kludgy (maybe a lot kludgy), but it gives you exactly what you are looking for.

Keep in mind, Kindoo is not the Church's software and only for doors. It's a product used in many places with many functions, including opening gates, turning on lights, a pretty much anything else you can dream up using a remote relay.

Yes, I figured that Kindoo is not Church software, but just hoping that who ever interfaces with Kindoo from the church could arrange to make this type of list available. :D :D :D
This seems to be the only place for us to get Kindoo tech support and make suggestions that I'm aware of.
I would say that your spreadsheet skills are way above average, I got a good grin from your comment "Like I said, it's a little kludgy (maybe a lot kludgy)" :D :D :D
I'm definitely only an average spreadsheet user, and I typically only use G Sheets, so your explanation would be a new learning curve for me to produce the same thing. :geek:

Nice, and I understand the answer. But my spreadsheet skills never graduated to the concatenation level, although I think I know what it means. [grin]

Concatenation is easy and super useful Works in Excel and Google Sheets:
If cell A1 is first name and B1 is last name, just use a formula like this in C1 to get the full name:
=A1&" "&B1
The ampersand (&) is the secret sauce here!
I'll see if I can throw together a clean G Sheets example later to cover ELHawkes feature request. I think it could be useful.
